“ Amazing ambiance and fair pricing. The lomo beef was tender, red onions tender and the rice was perfect. The service was exceptional. ”
“ Was out in Pasadena shopping and needed to grab some lunch to replenish my energy. Walked past this place and decided to give it a try. Service was awesome--friendly and attentive staff who made the experience even better. My food came out super fast and was packed with flavor. I ordered the Arroz Tapado, and it did not disappoint. Since it was a nice day, we sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air, but the inside also seemed really cozy. The only downside is that it's a little on the pricier side, but overall, the quality and taste made it worth it. ”
“ 5/5 - Absolutely love their Anticucho appetizer. It's beef heart skewers (dont knock until you try it!) with house sauce, fried potatoes, and a side of Maize. The beef heart skewers were grilled and smoky, juicy and tender, and well seasoned. This beef heart tasted better than some of the steaks Ive had in SoCal. Portion size was spectacular. I honestly could just eat this dish and call it a night. 3/5 - Lomo saltado was good. Standard. Really a safe dish to try if you've never had peruvian food before or dont want to be too adventurous. 4/5 - The Cau-Cau was delicious. Super soft texture for their tripe stew that even your granny with missing teeth can enjoy. Portions were great and the rice served as a nice balance for its unique yet familiar flavor. It kind of reminded me of Menudo. It had that menudo "tripe" scent, hominy, and slight hints of Mexican oregano. But the flavor was lighter and the consistency was more thick, not soupy. It gave that comfort food feeling and you cant get enough of it. It was something different, which made eating very enjoyable and exciting when you're sick of the same usual foods. Service was friendly. Highly recommend making reservations or else you will have to wait a while to get seated. Ambiance was casual and slightly upscale. Bathrooms are in the lower level, down a flight of stairs. It is not wheelchair accessible. ”
“ Out with a very good friend and wanted to try something new. I love Peruvian food and decided to try this place out. I'll keep this review short and to the point: They had one server for all the tables and as their host. When I say all the tables, pretty much all the tables were full and one guy running around. Not the best way to serve customers. When we got there the server was waiting on tables and there was no on in the front. It was a bit confusing but we waiting. We got seated shortly after and got our menus. The server came by 10 mins later to get outlet drinks and order. He was so tied up so it took another 10 mins for him to get us our drinks.. our food came out shortly after. The food was delicious. We didn't see our server again until he brought the check. Service: needs quite a bit of work. Server was very nice and did his best, but he should have had assistance. Food: delicious. I love Peruvian food and they didn't an amazing job. Overall: I would go back sometime if I'm in the area. I would recommend trying it if you're around the area. ”
“ Came for a lunch on a Sunday for a gf's birthday gathering. Our server was really helpful when we wanted to check about a certain allergy for one in our group of 3, so we were very appreciative of that. Got to try a few things: -Cortado (coffee), I only tried a sip but it was strong (to me)! A small cup, like a European cappuccino. -Pescado Sudado, a grilled fish fillet sitting atop some veggies (bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, and potato) and a tomato-wine broth. Served with a side of rice. I enjoyed this dish very much! -Tallarin Saltado Criollo w/ Chicken (choice of proteins are: beef, chicken or shrimp). This was surprisingly good. I'd say the flavor is similar to a Lomo Saltado, except instead of rice you have the pasta noodles. I liked this dish as well. -Yuca Frita, they don't have it as an appetizer but a side here. I wished it came out closer timing-wise with our other food so I could dip it in the sauces. Otherwise, the side dish was nothing to rave about. Parking in Old Town can be a bit of a doozy. If you don't mind walking, you can park at any of the lots and walk over. Otherwise, you can try your luck at street parking. Restrooms are downstairs and clean. Service was fair. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. ”
“ Overall: slept on spot in old town serving slightly exotic food. If you're tired of Italian, Japanese, Chinese and all the main offerings in Old Town swing by here to spice these up. Food: their ceviche is fresh. Refreshing for the mind body soul fresh. Hot summer day and you're feeling cooked off. Cold winter night up the spice abs you'll feel warmed right up. Lomo Saltado is a must try here. It oddly tastes a little like Chinese stir fry because if the similar ingredients (onions) and how they let the natural flavor of the beef come out. Their seafood paella is loaded up with shellfish and definitely worth getting for the seafood lovers. In contrast to the very strong flavors of the lomo the paella takes on a milder tone bringing out a warm aroma that gives you that warm fuzzy home cooking feel. Ambience/Decor/Service: beautiful interior with very practical tableware. The service was a bit slow but I think there was a huge crowd in a random Monday. ”
“ Came for dinner to celebrate a friends birthday, and we were all super impressed by the food at Bodegon no 69! Ordered the lomo saltado, arroz con pollo, and the ceviche B69. Our favorite dish was definitely the lomo saltado! It is a pretty small place so I would recommend grabbing a reservation. The servers were also very kind and treated our friend to a piña colada for his birthday! Overall a great experience and will definitely be back. Food: 5/5 Price: 4.5/5 Service: 4.5 Ambience: 4/5 ”
“ The best pork belly in town That outer layer is so crispy beyond perfect. Love this place for my Peruvian food. ”
“ Came here around 530 on a weekday with a friend. Thankfully there was not a wait but it did feel pretty hot inside during the summer day. There were so many good options on the menu that I didn't know what to order so we asked for recommendations from the waiter and he was extremely helpful. I ended up getting the arroz con pollo and it was BOMB. The flavors were so rich and I especially loved the sauce that it came with! My friend got the lomo saltado with beef which is just a classic Peruvian dish and it was really good too. Service was incredibly attentive and friendly! Looking forward to coming back and trying new dishes! ”
“ Decided to go to dinner in Pasadena with some friends who reside in Castle Green. I'm due for hip replacement, so we didn't want to walk far. They suggested Bodegon, and having never had Peruvian food, we agreed. What a revelation! Luckily they knew which items to recommend, and we all shared everything. Started with Pisco Sours. Yum! A frothy fruity (but not too sweet because of the sour) cocktail. Then we ordered 3 appetizers to share. Papa A La Huancaina, which apparently is a very popular dish and no wonder. Soft cooked potatoes covered in a yellowish cream sauce. Choclo Serrano, which is huge Peruvian corn kernels steamed and tossed with cheese cubes. Loved it! And Causitas, which I think were mashed potato balls with shredded chicken in a sauce. Not exactly sure, but they were delicious. We shared two orders of the Lomo Saltado for our main, since the appetizers were fairly heavy. This was a good call, both in choice and size! The wok fried beef and onions was delicious!! It's served with white rice, and on TOP of French fries!! We left this cute restaurant, with wonderful friendly service, and enjoyed our stroll home. Next time we want to try all new things! ”
